Privacy Policy
VanLife.uz stores its core product data on infrastructure controlled by the project team in Uzbekistan. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, how geolocation and media integrations work, and what rights may apply depending on where you are located.
Last updated: June 2, 2026
Scope
This policy covers the public VanLife.uz website, route and location pages, GPX downloads, admin access, Telegram links, YouTube embeds and user submission flows.
If a separate written agreement applies to a partner, sponsor or contributor relationship, that agreement controls where it conflicts with this public policy.
What we collect
We may process route and location content, GPX files, page requests, contact details sent through submissions, moderation notes, admin authentication records and operational logs.
If you choose to use browser geolocation, your coordinates are requested only after an explicit click and are used to power nearby search or map centering in that session.
We may also receive information from third-party services you intentionally open, such as Telegram, YouTube, map providers or analytics tools.
Why we process data
We use data to publish route and location pages, generate and deliver GPX files, moderate submissions, protect the service, investigate abuse, improve data quality and maintain backups and operational reliability.
Where analytics or consent tooling is enabled, it is used to understand product usage, performance and content quality rather than to sell personal data.
Cookies, local storage and analytics
VanLife.uz uses local storage for product preferences such as theme selection and may use essential cookies or session cookies for admin authentication and security controls.
If analytics, consent tooling or embedded third-party content is enabled, additional browser storage may be used by those tools subject to their own notices and, where required, user consent.
Maps, geolocation and third-party media
Browser geolocation is optional and is not requested until you click a location control.
Map tiles or external navigation links may involve third-party providers such as OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, Yandex Maps or Organic Maps when you choose to use them.
If you open Telegram links or YouTube content, those services act as separate controllers for the data they collect through their own products.
User submissions, retention and backups
If you submit route, location or correction data to VanLife.uz, we may store the submission, attached notes and moderation history to review accuracy, protect the service and maintain editorial accountability.
We retain operational logs, moderation records, backups and admin security records for as long as reasonably necessary to run, secure, restore and improve the service, or longer when required by law or active dispute handling.
Sharing and transfers
We do not sell personal data. Limited disclosure may occur to infrastructure, analytics, legal, security or professional service providers when necessary to run the service or comply with law.
Core product infrastructure is intended to remain under project control in Uzbekistan. Some third-party services you choose to open may process data in other jurisdictions.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or information about how data is processed.
Users in the EEA or UK may have rights under GDPR or similar local law. California residents may have rights under CCPA/CPRA where applicable. US commercial disclosures may also be shaped by FTC requirements where sponsored or affiliate content exists.
To exercise a privacy request, use the contact path published on VanLife.uz or the admin contact route provided by the project owner.
